St Magnus the Martyr Sponsored Peal Weekend

Friday 18th - Sunday 20th May, 2007

As a way for ringers to help support this project, a Sponsored Peal Day is being organised for the weekend of Saturday, 19th May, 2007. Some 50 bell towers in and around the City of London are being booked for peals on that day (and in the few days either side of this date). These towers have agreed that the peal donation or peal fee be forwarded to the Fund. The evening of 19th May is set to conclude with a social event in the centre of London.

We therefore need volunteer ringers to come forward and ring peals. If you are interested in ringing a peal on any days from Friday 18th to Sunday 20th May then please contact David Dearnley. David is co-ordinating all the ringers and putting peal bands together and matching them with towers.

The following have agreed to also co-ordinate ringers from their respective organisations if you would rather register your interest with them. They will then pass names on to David Dearnley.

  • Ancient Society of College Youths - Chris Kippin
  • Society of Royal Cumberland Youths - Simon Holden
  • Middlesex CA and London DG - Roger Bailey
  • Surrey ACR - Jason Hughes
  • Cambridge University Guild - Dickon Love
  • University of London Society - Mike Trimm

If anyone else would like to co-ordinate ringers from their Association then please let Dickon Love know.
